Blush & Bouclé

Fremont, CA

A newly built home has the opposite problem from an old one: everything is clean and nothing has a past, which can read cool. The fix here was warmth in layers — a curved cream sofa and two bouclé round chairs, a white marble-patterned round coffee table, large pastel abstract art, and blush velvet dining chairs — set against the home's gray cabinetry and gold hardware. A vertical-ribbed wood sideboard gives the deep gray accent wall some weight, and every bedroom is given a single accent color — blush, mustard, deep green — so the rooms feel distinct without anything feeling busy. The cabinetry, finishes and fixtures are the home's own; the staging supplied the softness.
